However in 2010 Nick began to focus on coaching and a career as a golf club Professional.Nick’s coaching ethos is to keep it simple and to tailor his coaching to the individual as opposed to sticking to a set method. Although he enjoys all coaching Nick is a short game specialist.
Over the years Nick has benefitted from the advice of many top coaches. However he considers the time he has spent with Pete Cowen to be the most valuable. Pete is one of the top coaches in the world and coaches the likes of major champions Henrik Stenson and Darren Clarke as well as Lee Westwood.
Nick’s Pro shop is full of the best golfing goods from the leading brands. If there’s something you’re looking for he’s sure to either have it or able to get it very quickly. Matt Law – Assistant Professional

Matt joined us at Chippenham in April 2017. However his golf career really started when in 2008 he was awarded a golf scholarship and the opportunity to attend college in the United States of America. During Matt’s time in America he attended The Western Texas Junior college.
During his time at this college he achieved a highest ranking of 1st out of all the Junior colleges in the region. Matt took the medalist honours at the NJCAA national preview and I n his final round he shot a front 9 of 30! Prior to attending The Western Texas junior college he was named All-Region for the 2009 semester. This opportunity enabled Matt to travel all over America, and compete against some of the best amateurs in the world. After returning from college and with a handicap of plus 1, he decided to turn professional in 2011.
During the 2017 season on the PGA West region he finished in the top 5 in every event he entered! Matt is regularly regarded to be the best ball striker around by his peers and has a great playing future ahead of him.

David Hoey – Assistant Professional

David joined Chippenham in April 2018 following his first year at a nearby Driving Range. He took a career-change late in life and has been playing professionally since 2014 but a devout player and follower of the beautiful game since 11 years old. His passion for golf stems from following the teachings of icons such as Ben Hogan, David Leadbetter and Harvey Pennick (read his ‘Little Red Book’ if you get a chance). David’s passion for the game really shows when he is coaching and his enthusiasm to share and help people improve their game is another reason we’re delighted he’s joined us.
He is currently completing his PGA qualification and in July 2018, undertook his most exciting challenge in golf yet – participating in the qualifying rounds for the Senior Open at one of the World’s oldest golf courses, Scotscraig. A wet and windy day and only 6 spots available to 460, entrants his efforts are a real credit to his determination to succeed and forge a path where others haven’t dared before. Keep an eye on this one!
